Posted: Post subject: What are middle aged women really thinking of dating these d |

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my first foray into the world of online dating. Not really sure what to expect here, however I did want to ask some questions. I am one of many women in middle age who are finding themselves suddenly single. I am also one of many women who are finding themselves very dismayed by the criteria men are using to base relationships upon.
Why is it so important that a woman be educated in a certian way or to a certain degree to make a man deem her finacially viable to move up in the world?
This is all I am hearing these days from men & it makes me wonder whether or not it is better that I live out the rest of my life single.
Sex seems to be a no mans land which may or may not mean anything. I cannot see myself hooking up with someone for nothing these days, which is why I am happy to sit on my hands literally.
I am of the generation that found meaning in the Donna Reed show, who grew up with two parents (who are still together after 60 years).
I no longer trust those who claim to want to love & hate feeling that way

`I am also new to this on-line dating and am just as confused as you. So far I have not received any messages of interest or in wanting to contact each other. As I go through the brouse sections, most of the men that seem to have some appeal are from Austrailia.
On the other hand, the few that did respond were as young as my grown children. And even if I were a cougar (interested in 50 yr. old men) the ones at the age of 50 to 65 all sound like they think they are 'OLD' and if they think like that, why in the world would I want to spend time with them?
It seems I don't have the answers to your questions. You are right about growing up in the Donna Reed show era; but things have changed and it makes it more difficult to socialize with the opposite S-- than it use to be.
I'm just looking for a man who is respectful, honest, has a sense of humor, is enjoying his life for as long as he lives it and treats women well. After all, that is how I live my life and treat people. I surely wouldn't ask more of the man I would enjoy being with.
