Time To Be Me I am retired. I am an independent, intellent and compassionate person. I like to do volunteer work with the homeless. I have an eclectic sense of humor. I am most comfortable in jeans but don't mind dressing up for some events. I like people that are open, sincere, compassionate and "down home" types. I love animals especially dogs and parrots. I am an avid almost obsessive reader. I like to swim, walk, movies, almost all kinds of music. Would like to learn to two step. Like to play cards, especially specialty canasta games, spades and pinocchle - but I need a refresher course in that game. I like to eat out when I can. I prefer comfort food, mexican and some chinese. Try to be open to new experiences. I like local travel and love to spend time at the coast particularly Port Aransas and South Padre Island.I do not drink very much but do enjoy good beer and wine. Do not care for people to drink more that moderately. I am trying to quit smoking. One of my favorite quotes is "it's hard to grow up and be who you really are" by e.e. cummings. I like men who are gentle, thoughtful,and sincere. I am interested in casual dating and friendship. Not ready (if ever again) for a "permanent" relationship. I like to take time to get to know people and develop relationships slowly. I am not a very domestic woman and don't even try to change me. Excellent sense of humor required. Open minded preferred. Race and religion are not important to me except that I do not like christians that only talk the talk, not walk the walk. I myself believe in Christ but follow the buddhist path (do my best). I like to chat and play cards on computer, watch some tv - a few shows I am devoted to. I do not like tempermental people, prefer laid back types.
