Not yet on the scrap heap Writer (not main occupation) - it's my hobby, thinker, humorist. Like reading, radio 4, walking, beach cafes, science. Looking for a companion who would share interests, have lively and sharp discussions.

I have children, but they are 16 and over, and I'm definitely NOT looking here for someone to look after them; they look after themselves (mostly). So please don't be put off by that.

Music- like Folk, pop from the 1950s-1980s, classical.

I enjoy writing a satire on the local news with some terrible jokes; if you like terrible puns, and Goon show style humour, we'll get on. But I also write on all kinds of other matters - history, science, film reviews, meditations and poetry.

I like detective stories and TV (Frost, Morse, Lewis, and dare I mention Bergerac), science fiction – Star Trek, Dr Who, Bablyon 5, good documentaries – history or science, or interesting stuff like the programme about the Spice Trail or the Filthy Cities or Ancient Britain.

I read avidly, both fiction and non-fiction.

I have very strong concerns for social justice, and I try to persuade politicians to think about these matters; I also have a blog on which I share my concerns.

Finding out new things is what makes me tick!
