What do you do for fun?
I like, but don't in fact do much, walking, looking, investigating, second-hand book buying, travel. I like companionable eating/ drinking/ talking, but, again, don't do much in practice. I like to meet and assess people with 'alternative' views.

Favourite local hot spots or travel destinations?
Locally, I don't mind, so long as it's reasonably clean, reasonably representative. I am curious about places such as China, Japan, Kazahkstan, Timbuktu, the Andes, the Atacama, Dharavi - but old enough to know all but one are tourist traps

Favourite things?
In-depth exchange of ideas and surprise twists, with insightful people, e.g. on power structures, propaganda, history, technologies/ slight alcoholic stupor/ some pop videos/ shopping areas with quirky corners/ comfortable weather/ energetic activity...
