A True Seeker I believe in the beauty of what a late zen master called "Beginner's Mind." None of us, really, escapes cultural conditioning, retrogressions, being tied to labels, superimposed or inherited goals, mistaken notions, or fabulous fantasies. But reality--- from sunsets to the poet Richard Eberhardt's dead "Groundhog," who turns into white "architecture" as the seasons pass--- is ever more mysterious and exciting, the longer and the closer you look. That's why a fellow traveller, a fellow seeker, whether they revel in looking inwards or outwards (or both), might be recognized for their exciting quietness of spirit, their openness and lucidity of vision, and their passion to remain "awake."
