I am 64 years old, separated from my spouse for 15 years and now in the midst of divorce, I am an intense,funny, well-educated, pretty, literate and kind person, testing whether I believe that a final committed relationship is what I want. Is chemistry instantaneous or does true love grow over time? And, lets face it, many of us don't think we have a lot of time and are undecided about whether to invest what little we have left on the off chance that this is a soul-mate. I have no easy answers to these questions.
A Partner must see me realistically. That involves seeing some deep good, courage and strength. That involves accepting the complexities of the life I have led, appreciating me for surviving those, appreciating the wisdom and insight they have given me. I also want to be challenged intellectually, I want to feel safe, I want to be treasured. In return I want to feel passion, admiration, respect for my partner and the life he has led, his triumphs and losses. I want him to be wiser than I. I want to hear what he sees in the world. If you are clear about your boundaries, confident that it is a good world, and people are essentially good, you might be the one, or you might not, I do not know how to know ahead of time I love fine art, fine wine, fine literature, antiques and old houses, puppies and kittens, babies and grownups. I enjoy a family get together, or friends that are as good as family. I love hearing old stories, and telling them. I love to sip on a glass of wine on Christmas Eve, with all my candles and my tree of blue lights casting a glow on my Victorian home, a fire in the dining room fireplace, and Listening to Dylan Thomas reading his lovely poem, "A Child's Christmas in Wales".
I love politics and am unapologetically liberal, progressive, socialistic or any other word that describes a relationship with fellow man and earth which puts us each in a place of great power and great insignificance.
