Must love dogs and travel I am retired. I worked both in education in social work for over thirty years. During that time I acquired my doctoral degree. I have 2 west highland white terriers that are extremely important in my life. I love all animals and am active in animal causes.
I am a very caring and compassionate person (as I needed to be in my work) but I have a great sense of humor and value a sense of humor in others.
Physical fitness is very important to me, and I work out, go to yoga classes and do cardio every week. As a result I have a very petite figure and am often thought to be younger than I am. Part of this is also due to my energetic personality and positive attitude toward life.
I have traveled a great deal and enjoy it tremendously and would be looking for someone who also likes to travel - even if it is a trip to the mountains in the fall to see the colors.
I am a spiritual person and try to live by the Golden Rule. I try to spend at least 10-15 minutes a day meditating which really helps relieve stress.
In a partner I think the most important characteristic I would be looking for would be kindness and compassion for others. Next, I feel humor is very important if we are to survive in this complicated world. I love to joke around and have a very quick wit and appreciate the same quality in others. As I stated before, the desire to travel is also something I would be looking for. There are many places in the US (like the midwest) I would love to visit. I also enjoy eating out from time to time and an ideal date would be dinner and a movie as I am a nut when it comes to the Oscars.
