I think of myself as a good person, with no more than the usual number of flaws. Recently relocated to Raleigh, I lost my wife to cancer 10 months ago. I am retired after a career as a Naval officer and in local government. I remain interested in government at all levels. My interests are eclectic and adaptable. Travel is high on my list of "to do" but it has to be shared. My children are grown and live in Virginia, so they are close enough to visit regularly. The woman I seek also wants a long-term relationship. She will be interested in learning experiences, like dogs, not materialistic (I'm comfortable, but not rich...but the point is really about valuing people over things, giving over receiving.) I think there has to be a "spark" fairly early if things are to progress beyond the freindship and mutual respect that must support the relationship.
